Easy plate cake with minced meat and cheese

You can put this delicious plate cake on the table in no time! You make the filling with well-seasoned minced meat, grated cheese and (for the enthusiasts) olives. Use for the dough we Croissant dough XL of Danerolles. The result is an airy plate cake that is tasty and spicy. It is also ideal for parties, because you can easily bake two or three pieces of this plate cake in the same time.

Danerolles' dough

As said, for this recipe I use the Croissant dough XL from danerolles. This dough is completely ready to be baked right away. In this case I flatten the dough directly from the can with a rolling pin, so without rolling it out first. This gives the sheet cake extra layers and the result is nice and airy.

We make the filling from minced meat. Do you eat vegetarian? Then you can of course also make it with vegetarian minced meat or 'scrambled tofu'.

This recipe is for one sheet cake, of which you can cut about 8 pieces. Do you need more? Then you can simply double the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Croissant dough XL from Danerolles
  • 150 gr minced beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, pressed
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • A pinch of cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 50 gr grated (matured) cheese
  • Optional: some olives

Preparation plate pie with minced meat and cheese

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper. Now make the filling for the plate cake. To do this, heat the oil over medium heat and fry the onion and garlic until the onion is translucent. Now add the minced meat and turn the heat up to high. Brown the minced meat for a few minutes.

Then add the soy sauce, tomato paste, paprika, onion powder, cumin and salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything well and then remove the pan from the heat. This will allow the filling to cool down a bit.

Now take the Croissant dough XL out of the packaging, but do not roll out the dough. Take a rolling pin and roll out the cylinder of dough in one go into a piece of about 15×40 centimeters. Spread the mincemeat mixture over the dough as you would a pizza.

Then divide the grated cheese over it and place some olives in between. Bake the tart in 25-30 minutes until golden and golden. Let it cool for a while and then cut it into bars or points. Enjoy your meal!
